The Humans Behind the Healing

Peace Healing and Wellness was born out of a simple truth: people deserve to feel seen, heard, and genuinely cared for—especially when it comes to mental health.Founders Mamatha Cheong and Tracy Ann Thompson first crossed paths as RNs at a local hospital. They stayed in touch, became board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners, and teamed up to start Peace Healing & Wellness.

"You’re not a problem to solve. You’re a person to support."

Mamatha

As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 13+ years in nursing and psychiatry, I bring both depth and practicality to every session. I obtained my Master's in Nursing from Chamberlian University and Bacherlors in Science in Biology and Nursing from Long Island University in New York. My background spans community health, inpatient psychiatry, outpatient clinics, and substance use treatment—so I’ve seen firsthand how layered and personal mental health can be.I specialize in diagnosing and treating a wide range of conditions like bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, and OCD. My approach is holistic and patient-centered: I believe in giving you the tools, insight, and treatment you need to feel better, not just temporarily—but for the long haul. With me, you’ll get a clear plan, thoughtful medication management, and a collaborative approach that honors your goals and your pace.
